Baby’s Room
Wednesday, May 16th, 2007 | All Posts
We have finally gotten the baby’s room ready. When we were thinking of how to decorate the room, Brian came up with the winning idea. He thought we should do a Curious George theme. Not only is it cute for a boy but there is a lot of meaning for our son. Brian’s middle name is George, due to tradition in his family. Now our son will be the fourth generation to carry that name. All the more reason to have a Curious George room right?.
Well here are some pictures of the room. The poster above the changing table was fun to make. Megan Sagers gave me the idea. It was my first time being somewhat crafty so of course it could look better but we thought the whole effect of the room turned out well. Let me know what you think.

I saw it in person, and it is ADORABLE! I can’t wait until the real little monkey boy has arrived! Go in the nursery every time you get heartburn or get uncomfortable, and it makes it all go away. The anticipation of a little one is the best feeling!
Hey Candace! It’s Jenn. Love the blog world- don’t you? Anyways- that is the best when the nursery is ready and you are just patiently waiting for your little one! Your nursery looks so cute and I love the whole theme that goes with the middle name! Hope to see you soon!

I love that time when everything is ready but no baby. George needs to hurry. Enjoy your sleep and your quite home for as much as you can.
Candace it turned out really cute! I would really like to see it in person sometime, but I will wait for little George to be here. I am so excited for you. But really enjoy the quiet time that you have, it will be the last you get for a long time!

It makes me want to hunt down Curious George stuff on ebay. Awesome work.

I bought the yellow monkey picture in Florida (Disneyworld) several years ago because it reminded me of Brian when he was a little boy. (I had to haul it back ON MY LAP!). Anyway, I had no idea it would be handed down the generations…but I’m glad!

From these comments, I figure, “Why not just make ‘George’ his first name?” Everyone already knows him by George!
hi candace, we have never met. i am taylors wife mandy. sorry to intrude on your blog but i had to tell you…your nursery looks so cute! i love decorationg nurseries and kids rooms. they are so fun. you did a great job! is the poster you made from pages of curious george books? very cute! i would love to make something like that for my boys room but in peter pan.
Hi Mandy. I remember meeting you once at Georgia’s house. That is so nice of you to comment. I actually printed pictures that Brian and I found online and put those on the posterboard. Pages from a book would be easier though since the pages are thinner. Peter Pan is a cute idea. It is fun to have things not many other people have.
