Light-Brite

Yesterday I was thinking about toys and shows that I used to like as a child. I remember playing with my lite-brite and having a ball. Then it made me wonder why toys change so much each decade. I noticed that Target and a few other places sell newer versions of the lite-brites, but I never hear of any kids having them these days. Why is that? Are children these days just into video games now that they don’t pay attention to these types of toys?
What were some of your favorite toys as a kid?

I think my yellow dump truck was responsible for building half of the Western civilization.
At least it was in my mind.
I have pictures of me sleeping with the yellow dump truck that was 3/4 my size.

I think one of my favorites was Grandma and Grandpa Judd’s air hockey game. Paul and I would always play with it at family get togethers when we were little. Such a good time! I still love air hockey. And their lite-bright was definiely awesome as well

We played with People and Cabbage Patch Dolls a lot. I also had a really great collection of Garbage Pail Kids cards…gross now that I think about it, but cool when I was six.
Oh man, I loved Brite Lite! But I never was totally into dolls and stuff. You could always find me outside playing basketball or soccer with my brothers.

I honestly don’t remember having many toys when I was little. I really just remember playing with Kyle in the backyard. So I say Kyle was my toy.
Jayci, I have changed your blog back. Thanks for the reminder.

Lego were (and still are) some of my favorite things to build with…they are sooooo TETRIS-like!
I remember when I had one of those. How funny. Why is it that our kids don’t have toys like that anymore? You are hilarious!!!
