Motherhood

You hear the phrase, “Just wait until you are a parent,” many times throughout your teenage years. Well, now that I have had my first child I have a new appreciation for my parents and any other good and caring parents. Tomorrow, Cole will be three weeks old and I am slowly learning the parenting techniques. There of course have been some nights of very little sleep, and a few moments when you wonder what you are doing wrong, but I have loved getting to have this role of being a mother.
One of my favorite inspirational sayings is “I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it.” I think this phrase is good to apply to parenting. Again, although I have only been a parent for three weeks, I am already feeling the joy of motherhood.

I have that same quote that I keep on my desk!
Everything you said is so true to motherhood. That too is one of my favorite inspirational sayings. Isn’t it amazing though how much you are able to on little sleep! I thought there was no way I could function. As soon as you hear that baby crying, you are up and tending to them like you have been sleeping for hours! You might nod off while feeding, but it’s amazing just the same.

I know how you feel. It makes me nervous about teenager years. Right around 15 years old is when I remember hearing, “Wait until you have kids” the most often.
Hi Candace, I honestly don’t know if I remember you. Some people in your baby shower pictures look familiar. What was your maiden name? When we were in Cimmaron Creek Ward, that was when I was waiting for Ashton on his mission, and I think I was pretty oblivious to alot of things around me.
Anyways, to comment on this post, read “I am a Mother”. It is at Deseret Book. I always tell everyone to read this book…it is short…but inspirational for any mother. It is great being a parent and you will find it just gets busier, but even more rewarding as time goes on. Talk to you later….
motherhood is one of the hardest things i have ever done in my life, but by far the most rewarding. i cannot remember my life without my 2 boys. i swear i think i learn more from my kids than they do from me! cherish every moment, they grow up so fast. pretty soon you will be sending cole on his mission!
It is the hardest thing in the world but also the absolutely the most rewarding! It gets busy and overwhelming with family, church, and just life but some how we all get through it! You are doing an amazing job and we all love you!
